SEIF investments

The Social Enterprise Investment Fund was set up by the Department of Health in 2007 to enhance the role of social enterprise in the provision of health and social care.

Since June 2009 SEIF has been administered by The Social Investment Business with Local Partnerships.

  • Since it began in 2007 the SEIF has invested more than £80million in the health and social care sector.
  • Since we began managing the SEIF in June 2009 we have invested over £63million in more than 370 social enterprises working in health and social care.

Who has SEIF supported?

The following table provides the details of health and social care social enterprises who have received SEIF investment from June 2009 up until 31 March 2011. The organisations provide a variety of innovative services in local communities across the country -  ranging from sports training and healthy eating advice for school children to a community transport service for older and disabled people.
