Our funds

We help civil society organisations as a whole prosper through better access to finance, support and long term strategic thinking. All our funds provide capital, knowledge and expertise to help organisations thrive.

Investment and Contract Readiness Fund

The ICR is a three year £10 million fund, being delivered on behalf of the Office for Civil Society that aims to ensure social ventures are better equipped to secure new forms of investment and compete for public service contracts.

If you are a social venture looking to grow or a business advisor with a track record in helping organisations become investment ready, please register your interest. The Fund will open at the end of April.

Communitybuilders Fund

The Communitybuilders Fund, previously owned by the Department of Community and Local Government is now an endowed fund, owned and administered by the Adventure Capital Fund. It supports neighbourhood-based, community-led organisations to become more sustainable through a mixture of loans, grants and business support.

The Communitybuilders Fund will re-open in June 2012. Visit the Communitybuilders Fund website to register your interest in this window.

Social Action Fund

The Social Action Fund is a new grant Fund of over £20 million managed by us on behalf of the Office for Civil Society. It aims to inspire organisations to create new social action opportunities through people giving what they have, be that their time, their money, or their assets, knowledge and skills.

The Social Action Fund is now closed to new applications.

Social Enterprise Investment Fund

We manage the Social Enterprise Investment Fund (SEIF) with Local Partnerships, on behalf of the Department of Health. SEIF is a fund that provides loans, grants and professional support to social enterprises involved in the delivery of health and social care services.

SEIF is now closed to new applications.

The Adventure Capital Fund (ACF)

The Adventure Capital Fund is an ambitious style of funder for community enterprise. The pioneering packages that we offer have the potential to transform neighbourhoods across the country.

The Fund is currently not open but funding windows will be announced in the future.

Futurebuilders England Fund

We manage the Futurebuilders England Fund on behalf of the Office for Civil Society. This fund is a £215 million Fund that provides loan financing, often combined with grants and professional support, to third sector organisations in England that need investment to help them bid for, win and deliver public service contracts.

The Futurebuilders England Fund is now closed.

Modernisation Fund

We manage the Modernisation Fund on behalf of the Office for Civil Society. The Modernisation Fund is a £9.5 million Fund that provides interest-free loans of between £30,000 and £500,000 to help organisations be more resilient to the impact of the economic downturn.

The Modernisation Fund is now closed.
