Ladder to the moon and The Social Investment Business

The Social Investment Business has invested £200,000 in Ladder to the moon to assist the growth and development of the organisation.

Ladder to the moon aims to improves the quality of life for older people in care, particularly those living with dementia. The organisation employs professional actors, trained in interactive theatre, to come in as ‘character visitors’. They treat everybody the same – engaging residents, staff and visitors in their world (anything from a Shakespeare play to a Hollywood movie).

They bring laughter and energy into the homes and create new connections between staff and residents.

In the last year Ladder to the moon performed with 1,580 older people in care and 140 members of staff and have visited over 50 homes, hospitals and day centres with a total of 93 performances.
