About us

As the UK's largest social investor, we have made over 1100 investments in civil society organisations ranging from under £5,000 to almost £7 million. We invest in viable, non-bankable projects: faciliating their move into more enterprising ventures; strengthening them; investing in excellence; and bringing to scale the most innovative ideas.

We bring finance, knowledge and expertise to help civil society organisations thrive – improving their infrastructure, increasing their capacity, helping them bid for, and win, public service contracts.

The Social Investment Business is the trading name for Futurebuilders England Fund Management Limited and was set up in 2009.

More about our funds

Our vision

A strong, well capitalised and thriving civil society to enrich the lives of the people and the communities it serves

Our mission

  1. To have a transformative effect on the sector – strengthening the sector at both the organisational and strategic level, so that it is more sustainable and valued in public service delivery
  2. To bring more money into the sector, to meet the high demand for social investment and to support this with knowledge and expertise
  3. To be a thought leader for social investment, based on our demonstrable success in helping civil society organisations of all sizes do more of what they do best

Have you got a great idea?

We are looking for organisations with big plans. Maybe you want to go national, greatly increase your services or you've got a great new idea.
